How affordable an extension is depends on several factors, such as the size of the extension, the materials chosen, and the many additional options you can include or leave out. Options for an affordable extension

Here are a few ways to save money on your extension. We’ve outlined some options for you:

Façade cladding:
Affordable options include brick slips, PVC cladding, and Fraké wood. Cedarwood costs more, but the choice is yours.

Window frames:
PVC frames are by far the most budget-friendly option. The standard model with French doors is also cheaper than sliding doors or a folding façade.

Roof trim:
An overhang looks great, but a roof trim is sufficient to finish your roof edge. It effectively protects the flat roof against leaks while keeping costs down.

Glass roof:
A glass roof in your extension is a great idea. But remember, bigger isn’t always better. A single-pane skylight is much cheaper and still lets in plenty of daylight.

Downpipe:
A PVC downpipe is more affordable than a zinc one. Naturally, one downpipe is cheaper than two, and one might be sufficient for proper water drainage.

Spots, outlets, and lighting points:
Installing spots, outlets, and lighting points in ceilings and walls incurs upfront costs. However, it’s often cheaper to do it right the first time than to open things up later. Careful planning here can save you money in the long run.

Plastering and painting:
When finishing walls, consider doing the plastering and painting yourself to save money. The same goes for installing underfloor heating. If we handle it, you won’t have to worry about anything after installation, and you can start decorating right away. Plus, the quality is assured—but, of course, that convenience comes at a price.
